INAUGURATION OF THE INSTITUTE OF PHILOSOPHY AT PVP
The Formal inauguration ceremony of the new Institute of Philosophy at Paurastya Vidyapitham, Vadavathoor was held on 07 February 2023. Cardinal Mar George Alencherry, the Chancellor of PVP and the Major Archbishop of Syro Malabar Church made the formal inauguration. PHOTOS
A SYMPOSIUM ON BIBLICAL LANGUAGES
The PVP organized a symposium on “Biblical Languages” on 23 January 2023 for the Licentiate students at Fr. Placid Memorial Hall. Several papers on biblical languages were presented on that day. Various exhortations based on this theme were presented on that day. President of the PVP, Dr. Andrews Mekkattukunnel delivered the introductory speech for the symposium. Dr. Jacob Prasad presented the first paper on the topic, “Greek Language: History and Evolution”, following this Dr. Varghese Mattathil also presented a paper on "Aramaic-Syriac Language: Its historical setting and development", and finally Prof. Aryel Tsion presented a paper on “History and Revival of the Hebrew language” along with Dr. Cyriac Valiyakunnumpurathe and Dr. Sebastian Kuttiyanickal.
INAUGURATION OF THE INSTITUTE OF PHILOSOPHY
The Autonomous Institute of Cycle I of Philosophy was erected by The Dicastery for Culture and Education for Culture and Education on 12 December 2022 an Autonomous Institute of Philosophy at Paurastya Vidyapitham (PVP) granting only the First Cycle degree, without being affiliated to a Faculty. The Institute has the faculty to award canonical degree of Baccalaureate in Philosophy (B. Ph) to students. The official inauguration of the Autonomous Institute of Philosophy at Paurastya Vidyapitham (PVP), Kottayam is scheduled for 7 February 2023.
CONVOCATION DAY – 2022
The 49 th convocation ceremony of PVP was held on 9 January 2023 in the Cardinal Tisserant Auditorium. The ceremony was presided over by His Excellency Mar George Punnakkottil, Bishop Emeritus of the Eparchy of Kothamangalam. Sri T.K. Jose, the Chairman of Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission, delivered the Convocation Address and also distributed the Degree Certificates. One student obtained Doctrate in Theology, three students obtained the degree of Licentiate in Theology, four students in Syriac Theology, five students in Biblical Theology and ten students in Eastern Canon Law. SYMPOSIUM ON CARDINAL EUGENE TISSERANT
The PVP organized a symposium on the theme, “Tribute to Cardinal Eugene Tisserant” on 12 August 2022 at the Cardinal Tisserant Auditorium. Various exhortations based on this theme were presented on that day. A panel discussion was also held later in the day to hear the voice of the students regarding the aforementioned matter. President of the PVP, Dr. Andrews Mekkattukunnel delivered the introductory speech on Cardinal Tisserant. Archbishop Mar Joseph Pamplani presented the first paper on the topic, “how Cardinal Tisserant influenced in the growth of Syro Malabar Church”.
